The new company was formed on April 2, 2002 from the combination of Nissei Sangyo America, Ltd., a subsidiary of Hitachi High-Technologies Corporation of Tokyo, Japan; the Semiconductor Equipment Group of Hitachi America, Ltd.; and Hitachi Instruments, Inc., a subsidiary of Hitachi America, Ltd. Working in a team relationship, Hitachi High Technologies America professionals concentrate on innovative design, utilization of the world's most advanced technologies, comprehensive marketing, sales and service experience. This team is dedicated to developing services enabling business agility in response to any market challenge.

Administration headquarters for all divisions is located in Schaumburg, Illinois, with key operations in Dallas, TX, and San Jose and Pleasanton, CA.
