Description:
Well-established high technology company needs an experienced Senior Field Service Engineer. In this position, you will use your electronics, mechanical, computer, and diagnostic expertise to perform set-up, calibration, failure diagnoses, and trouble shooting on complex instrumentation that are based on leading-edge technology from a world-renowned technology provider. The instrumentation primarily consists of Optical Inspection Systems , but may include Scanning Electron Microscopes (SEMs), Transmission Electron Microscopes (TEMS), Field Emission SEMs, and Scanning Transmission Electron Microscopes (STEMs).

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for addressing all service-related issues at customer sites and providing training to customers and new field engineers.
• Provide technical guidance to junior field engineers and customers.
• Responsible for performing system installations at customer sites and completing field service documentation utilized for tracking system reliability and customer billing.
• Responsible for performing, documenting, and submitting warranty support.
Qualifications:
• 5-10 years of field service experience required
• Practical experience in installing / maintaining / troubleshooting laser based systems
• Scanning Electron Microscope and/or Semiconductor Manufacturing Process experience is a plus.
• B.S. or A.S. in electronics, military technician school, or equivalent preferred.
• Basic knowledge and understanding of physics, mechanical systems, and chemistry.
• Experience using digital voltmeters, oscilloscopes, hand tools and computers.
• The ability to travel both domestically and internationally as needed.
• Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as required.
• Must have and retain valid driver’s license in resident state. Must be insurable by our insurance company.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to resolve difficult technical issues and devise long term plans to resolve ongoing service related issues at customer sites
• Ability to work from schematics using various test equipment and mathematical calculations specific to electronics
• Ability to effectively interface with customers, service department personnel and other team members.
• Ability to provide preventive maintenance and basic emergency service on specified instruments.
• Possesses strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude
